Not finishing class work becomes homework. Not “doing” class work becomes homework. The teacher assigns homework. Homework, homework, homework! I have no time to watch TV, play online, or update my website! It’s something I undeniably dread getting assigned when I come to school. It’s always time-consuming, wretched, agonizing, and the excuse, “My dog ate my homework,” doesn’t work anymore. Why do I detest homework so much? It’s a complete waste of my time! I have a life after school too! I go to SAC meetings, PRE, go to the mall, head for the movies with friends, and plenty more! We are already spending more than one-third of our day at school and on the bus! If we get what we ” re doing while we ” re in school, why should we have to do it just to “make sure” that we get it? My brother grasps stuff at school, but he’s decided that he’s too good to do homework, which is why he comes home with F’s on his report card.
If you didn’t do homework, you’d get a big, fat, unsightly zero as part of our grades that would be added up and averaged at the end of the semester leaving your parents no choice, but to ground you. Teacher’s should assign homework, but a fewer amount. The only tactic that I know of is to do it, otherwise I’ll be sorry. In math this year, I only missed one homework grade, but it was because I left it sitting on my desk at home. I just do homework while think about me surfing the web and chitchatting with my friends on AOL instant messenger.
If I don’t make “good grades” then I don’t get any privileges and actually tend to lose some. Although I hate doing homework, I guess I would make the sacrifice to do it anyway because if I get straight A’s in that class, I’ll be put in an Honor’s Class, which will give me more opportunities in the future. Even though I still don’t understand why we have to do homework, it’s sort of a grade raiser if you do it, and it’s just the opposite if you don’t. I guess homework isn’t that bad, but as long as the teachers assign a fewer quantity, I’ll be willing to do it with no problem.
