Whai is it like to transition from High school to College ? This is the question that many students ask each year. Having experienced the transition both, i can say that there are many similarities as well as alot big differences between the two types of schools.
High school and College have similar traits in common. Students are to sit at desk in the classrooms and expected to listen and learn from the teachers or professor. Some similarities and differences occur in the teachers and the professors. Some relationships include things such as teachers and professors still assign homework, reports, presentations, and giving tests. Although, college work is more difficult than high school work. Teachers in high school remind students of uncompleted assignments and upcoming projects. An as college students, professor expect students to read the syllabus for upcoming projects.
However , there are alot of changes that the new high schooler should be mindful of. In High School, students do straight from one class to another one continuously. But, on the other hand college students often have time between classes depending on how their schedule is set up. High school is an mandory and starts at 7 :15 am and usually ends at 2:15pm. On the other hand, college you can go as early as you want or as late as you want. College is expensive and voluntary. There are usually 20-25 students in a classroom , but in college there are 50 to 100 students in a room. In High school theirs a certain time you go to lunch, college you can go in between classes or after. The textbooks in high school are free and can be store in lockers . While college textbooks are likely to cost money and are stored in bookbags or dorm rooms.
