I have used computers for quite awhile although I am still a beginner. I am able to use Microsoft Word and Excel and I am able to surf the Internet and perform searches efficiently. I am very interested in expanding my knowledge on all aspects of Computer Technology. I plan with my education to become a Network Administrator and a Computer Technician. The starting wage for Computer Support Specialists is around $1700 a month. Computer Support specialists are and will be one of the most important jobs in the near future.
As technology changes specialists are needed to assist average people understand what they are doing on their computers. A Computer Support specialist is a person who can give support to people who have little or no experience with computers. They are responsible for maintaining the up keeping of computers. Specialists use programs like Microsoft Office 2000 to complete professional documents and set up Local Area Networks.
A computer specialist performs preventative maintenance for hardware, software and networks. This means that they clean and vacuum cables. They perform inspections to ensure there are no viruses on software or the network. In a day of work they typically evaluate and select software and hardware.
The specialists are needed because a large number of businesses know their line of work but know very little about computers. The large computer words simply mean that they choose the appropriate programs that a business will need to function correctly. They install the software and fix the potential and current problems. In the business world a specialist can use word processors, spreadsheets, databases, graphics, accounting and communication packages. This is useful to anyone but with a specialist other computer knowledge they are able to do almost anything in any office. Any large business would need a few specialists in their office.
They can teach technical training for less advanced users. Large amounts of people think that a specialist is the same profession as a programmer. This is completely not true. A programmer writes, tests and maintains the instructions called programs or software.
A specialist gives the support needed for the programs or software. So there is a large difference. The computer world needs both of these important professions for anything to technically work properly. Through the information I have read I know this is the right career for me.
