How Did Music Influence My Life I suppose that there is hardly a person in the world, who feels indifferent to music. Music is one of the most beautiful, inimitable and divine forms of art, which may evoke wide spectrum of emotions: from sorrow to happiness, from cry to laughter. Music is universal language, and it occupies very important place in our culture. It helps people to express feelings, to communicate or to learn better. Every nation and ethnic group has special unique tunes and melodies, and there is a great variety of different styles and types of music. Some of them, like rock, pop, rap, or classic music, are being listened by millions of people around the world, and some of them, like jazz, folk, or heavy metal, has rather limited audience. Everybody has individual musical taste and preferences. I like various styles of music, I can listen everything, from rap to pop and classic, from Snoop Dogg and Eminem to George Michael and Vanessa Mae.
I like all music which is well-done. For me the particular style which I would prefer in the moment depends on the mood, weather, surrounding, circumstances, and so on. If I feel good and energetic, some fast rock songs may support my tonus and bring a lot of satisfaction to me. In other situation, when I am dejected or sad, I would prefer some heavy music to free my emotions. Finally, if my mood is calm or if I am tired, I can listen to some slow songs and ballads. From time to time I like listening to my recordings of classis music, it makes me feel belong to something eternal. I consider Bach to be one of the greatest composers of the whole humanity.
Of course, music influences a lot of my life. For me music is not only entertainment, like cinema or theatre, it is much more integrated into my daily activity and occupies very important place in it. Listening to music, playing guitar and singing song helps to get relaxed and to calm down, it cheers up and brings a lot of positive emotions, and it assists in work and accompanies my activity very frequently. There are some particular examples from my life, which are connected with listening to music. In my school times I enjoyed very much music of some rock bands, like Aerosmith and ZZTop, so I started getting interested in playing musical instruments and began studying basics of notation and harmony. I have learnt a little bit how to play guitar, and it was pretty exciting experience for me. In addition, preferable music style influenced on my personal image, on the way I used to dress and behave in my school years.
Besides, I started looking for people, who would share my music taste and interests. By Internet I got involved into some groups and communities, members of which were discussing music tendencies and novices online, thats how I got acquainted with some present good friends of mine. We still keep in touch, and I am very glad to know these people, because they help and support me in all my hard times. Nowadays everybody is talking about negative influence of modern music on children and teenagers, damaging their imagination about normal way of thinking. It is supposed to be that super modern styles of music, like rap and heavy metal, bring dark, depressive and pessimistic thoughts, cause violence, aggression or mental disorders, affect the way of life and behavior, and may stimulate suicide. It is said that modern music sounds more and more like noise, at the same time modern songs lately turned into meaningless mumbling of rappers without any melody.
This tendency makes me feel sad. I believe that at all times there was a lot of good and bad music, so everybody could choose what to listen to. It is true that recently the amount of aggressive and brutal music is really increasing. But personally I think that music must brighten our life and bring only positive emotions; it must make us feel happier and bring hopes and optimism. Music is one of the best and most demanded art on earth, and I sincerely wish it to remain enchanting and delightful for everybody
