Aids is the most serious disease in the world. This is because there is no cure for this deadly disease. Even though aids is a deadly disease it can also be prevented easily. People who avoid having unprotected sex and do not use drugs probably will not get aids.
Aids (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) is a deadly disease that attacks some of the body’s white-blood cells. Aids makes the body vulnerable to other infections such as the common cold which could kill you. Aids is caused by a retrovirus. HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) is “the aids virus.” The aids virus breaks down the body’s immune system. The immune system is the body’s natural defense against infections. Aids weakens the immune system and makes it more vulnerable to other diseases. Sometimes the aids virus itself kills the person by infecting the brain. However this happens rarely.
The aids virus affects the people that have it in three ways. One example is someone who is a carrier. A carrier is a person who has the virus and can pass it to other people but this person does not show symptoms of the disease. A carrier may develop symptoms years later. Some people have aids-related complex. This set of early signs is often called ARC. Someone with this complex shows some symptoms of aids but cannot be diagnosed with aids yet. The last effect is the person with aids. Once the disease appears the person will likely die. Although this can take 6 month to 5 years. So far there is no cure for this deadly disease.
