Citizenship Evaluation.
Our group chose to campaign about NSPCC because child abuse is a serious matter in the UK.
In out group we had a manager secretary and an editor. Gulten was the manager and she told our group what information and what pictures to get for our research. I was the secretary and she made and handed out all the questionnaires. I went on the internet and searched on Google for campaign information in which she photocopied and made three copies for each of us. She made information copied for all of us like:
• NSPCC poster.
• What is child Abuse information.
• Child Abuse – Signs & Symptoms information.
• NSPCC – Charity fundraising information.
• How the NSPCC works information.
• The NSPCC – FULL STOP campaign information.
• Why we need to transform our help lines information.
• NSPCC – Changing the law, policies and professional practice information.
Tamara was the editor where she collected pictures for each information page and put in on it. She also made a collage of images including:
• NSPCC logo.
• Baby P pictures.
• Children STOP photo’s.
The most useful website we used was the actual NSPCC website, because it had everything we wanted to know on there also it had some pictures which was also helpful.
Between us we thought of a lot of ideas so that people would know our campaign. Some of our ideas were:
• Role play.
• Assembly.
• Raising money for the NSPCC by organizing a talent show.
• Power point presentations about NSPCC.
• Leaflets.
• Video about NSPCC.
Unfortunately one of our group members left the school so it made it harder for only two of us to organize everything, which is why we only made our own NSPCC video, by asking teachers and students in our school to answer questions about the NSPCC and what it does. Some of the questions included:
• What is NSPCC?
• What does the school do to help the NSPCC?
• What does NSPCC stand for?
• What can Norbury Manor Business and Enterprise College for girls do to raise awareness for the NSPCC?
• Do you think NSPCC has advertised itself a lot for people to notice it and so raise money for it?
All the questions we asked were answered with positive answers from pupils and teachers in the school.
In our group there was quite a lot of absences between us, because we was ill, so that also put an affect on the amount of acting we did.
In conclusion, I think we could have done more work and co-operated more together, but we done as much as we can, because of the absence of another group member and as we were ill. Also I think that Gulten ( the other group member) and me, could have concentrated more on our work, but overall I think we done quite well.
